Deborah Sampson is a seasoned Educator with over fourteen years of experience teaching across internationally recognized curricula, including the International Baccalaureate (IB), IGCSE, and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). Her teaching career is marked by excellence and innovation at SOS Hermann Gmeiner International College, where she currently leads various academic and co-curricular initiatives, and previously at the University of Ghana’s Department of Linguistics.
With a strong foundation in linguistics — holding a First Class Bachelor’s degree and an MPhil in Linguistics from the University of Ghana — Deborah brings a deep understanding of language, communication, and student learning to every aspect of her work. Her specialization in sociolinguistics further enriches her classroom practice and informs her inclusive, student-centered approach.
In her roles as Head of English, IB Examiner, Subject Coordinator, and Extended Essay Supervisor, Deborah has demonstrated a strong command of curriculum planning, academic writing instruction, and international assessment standards. She has played a vital role in developing institutional policies and programs, including contributions to special-needs education, entrance examination design, and summer orientation for international students.
